About this App
A crypto chat collects spam, phishing links and quarrels in a single evening, and there is one admin. Guardian in Telegram takes on moderation: ban, mute, warnings, message cleanup and a portal that screens new members. Plus a "buy bot" that reports token purchases. 🛡️
The bot targets communities around tokens, but its moderation commands suit any group.
The moderator command set
The bot's menu lists familiar tools, and they work by username or as a reply to a message.
- /ban, /tempban, /unban. Permanent and temporary bans, and lifting a block.
- /kick. Remove a member without banning.
- /mute, /tempmute, /unmute. Stop someone writing for a time or indefinitely.
- /warn and /unwarn. Warnings before harsh measures.
- /muteall and /unmuteall. Silence the whole chat to cool an argument.
- /purge. Delete messages from a chosen one to the latest.
The portal: a filter at the door
The /setup command configures the Guardian portal. In essence it is a newcomer check that keeps spam bots away before they see the chat. Remove the setup with /delsetup. 🚪
For active crypto groups this matters: strangers post "giveaway" links in the first minutes after joining.
The buy bot: what and why
The /config command sets up the buy bot. It posts messages in the chat about purchases of the project's token. For a community that signals activity, and for members it is a way to follow the market.
Be careful: a purchase alert does not prove a token is good. Make buying decisions yourself, not from the emotional mood of a chat. ⚠️
Backups and trending
The /backups command shows your settings backups so you can restore a configuration. The /trend command relates to fast-track promotion in a trending list. Terms and cost of promotion are shown inside the bot.
Connecting the bot safely
- Add the bot to the group and grant the admin rights it needs.
- Do not give extra: managing members and deleting messages is enough.
- Open /settings and go through the parameters.
- Try it in a test group before running it in the main one.
Never send the bot seed phrases or private keys. No moderation feature needs them.
Set an escalation rule and write it into the chat rules. Members then understand what earns a warning and argue less with admins. It is especially useful with several moderators who need a single line of behavior. 📌
Once a month, review who was banned and why. Sometimes a filter catches a real person and you never notice. Mistakes are best fixed quickly and politely.
Gentle moderation beats harsh moderation
Warning first, then mute, then ban. Chat rules should be pinned and clear. Overly strict moderation scares off real people, while weak moderation lets spammers take over. 🙂
