Mementioner: Tag Everyone

Bot • Channel Management

About this App

The meeting is on Friday, and in a chat of forty people only five have replied. Reminding everyone by hand means typing forty names. Telegram has no built-in way to call everyone, and Mementioner fills exactly that gap: add the bot to a group, type /all, and every member gets a mention.

Lots of people already know it, with nearly a hundred and fifty thousand users.

One command for the whole chat

The bot has just one command, and that is its strength: /all. You call it in the group and the bot mentions each member so everyone receives a notification. 📣

No complicated settings are needed. Add the bot to a chat and you can start calling people.

Setup in a minute

  1. Open the bot and press the button to add it to a group.
  2. Choose the chat where you want to call members.
  3. Grant the permissions Telegram asks for so the bot can work.
  4. Type /all in the group whenever you need to gather people.

You do not need to hand out extra rights, and the set is worth reading right in the confirmation window.

The bot does not read your conversation

That is the creators' main selling point. The description says plainly that the bot has no access to your messages, unlike some other bots. For a group chat with work or family talk, that matters. ✅

Still, check such claims yourself. In Telegram you can open the group's admin list and see which rights the bot received.

Large groups and admin-only mode

In groups of more than fifty members the bot does not work out of the box, a limit described in the bot itself. To enable it in a big chat or to keep the command for admins only, you need to message the bot's author. The contact is in the bot's profile.

It is a sensible guard against abuse. Picture any member of a five-hundred-person chat being able to mention everyone: the chat would turn to noise. 🔔

When calling everyone is fair

A mass mention sends a notification to every member, even those who muted the chat. Use it rarely and for a reason.

  • Event gathering. A date, place and time that must not get lost.
  • Urgent news. A canceled meeting, a moved shift, an important change.
  • Voting. You need answers from everyone quickly.
  • Study groups. A deadline, a moved class, a new task.

What not to do 🚫

Do not call /all for memes and "good morning". People will mute notifications for good or leave the chat.

Write a message with clear content instead of a bare "everyone!". Then people see at once whether they need to react.

Who it suits

Admins of work chats, class monitors, trip organizers, coaches, parents of school class groups. Anyone who needs to reach members fast and does not want to list them by hand.

For small chats of up to fifty people the bot is ready to go at once. Bigger ones need a separate arrangement. ⚡

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I mention all members of a group?▼
Add Mementioner to the group and send the /all command there. The bot mentions the members and each one gets a notification. The bot needs no other commands.
Will the bot read my conversation?▼
The creators state that the bot has no access to your messages. Even so, check the group's admin list to see which rights it has and do not grant extras.
Does the bot work in large groups?▼
Out of the box it works in groups of up to fifty members. For chats above fifty you need to message the bot's author, whose contact is in the profile. The same route enables a mode where the command is available to admins only.
How do I avoid annoying members?▼
Use /all only for important things: the time and place of an event, urgent changes, polls. Write a clear message so people can see whether a reaction is needed. If you call everyone too often, they will mute notifications.
