About this App
It is the night before a deadline, your head is a mess, and the translator, calculator and reference page are open in three different tabs. Luzia folds all of that into one conversation: type a question in the chat and get an answer, as if you were texting a well-read friend. 🤖
It is an AI assistant that started in Spain in 2023 and serves the Spanish-speaking and Portuguese-speaking markets. You can try it in other languages, but it is best known where it launched.
Who is behind Luzia
The company was founded by Álvaro Martínez Higes, Javier Andrés and Carlos Pérez. Their idea was simple: an AI helper should live in the messenger where people already spend their day, not on a separate website with sign-up forms.
That is why you can start talking without forms or passwords. Open the chat, write a message, get a reply.
What the assistant can do
- Answer questions. From everyday ones to schoolwork: explain a topic, suggest an idea, draft a plan.
- Translate text. Handy when you need to understand a letter fast or write in another language.
- Transcribe voice messages. A long recording turns into text you can read in a minute.
- Solve math problems. At various levels, with the steps explained.
- Summarize. Drop in a long text and get the gist.
- Generate pictures and give the weather. The service gained these features at different times.
Built for study, useful beyond it
The creators aimed at students from the start, so the learning side is strong: explanations, worked solutions, text checks.
Adults get use out of it too: a polite reply to a client, a caption for a photo, a list of questions for a job interview.
Getting a better answer
A neural network answers better when the task is clear. A few habits always help.
- Name a role. For example: explain it like a teacher talking to a twelve-year-old.
- Give context. Your level, your goal, what you already tried.
- Ask for steps. For hard tasks this cuts down on mistakes.
- Follow up. If the answer is too general, say what is missing.
The shutdown story worth knowing
In May 2024 the Luzia version for one of the big messengers was switched off for a while because of high platform costs. After the platform relaxed its rules, the service returned.
The lesson is plain: a free AI assistant in a chat lives on someone else's terms, and those can change. Do not build your only workflow on it. ⚠️
The paid tier
The service has a Luzia+ subscription that widens the limits: more images, longer chats and no ads. Check current prices and terms inside the app before you pay.
You can try the assistant in the standard mode without a subscription. Find out first whether it covers your tasks.
What a chatbot gets wrong
Any AI assistant sometimes states wrong things with confidence. Check dates, figures, quotes and references against a reliable source, especially for study and work.
Never send passwords, card numbers, passport details or other people's private data to the chat. Treat everything you write as visible to the service. 🔒
