About this App
You watch a trailer, you want the game right now, and then a nagging thought arrives: will my computer even run it? Guessing from the numbers in system requirements is tedious. The VGTimes PC Test bot compares those numbers with your hardware for you.
It is the official PC testing bot from the VGTimes gaming site. It works in Russian and English, and you can switch language with /start.
One question, one answer
The scheme is simple. You send the bot a game title, and it analyzes your PC specifications to see if they meet the requirements.
No tables to compare on your own. You get a verdict instead of two columns of numbers that are easy to mix up.
What gets compared
System requirements usually come as minimum and recommended, and the gap between them is large. The check covers the key hardware parameters.
- Processor. Affects the frame rate in games with many objects on screen.
- Graphics card. The main factor for picture quality and graphics settings.
- Memory. When there is too little, the game stutters.
- Free disk space. Modern titles take tens of gigabytes.
The VGTimes site describes its test in general terms: it compares your PC's specs with the game's requirements and, when needed, suggests what to improve.
Minimum, recommended and real life
If your PC passes the minimum, the game will most likely launch, but on low settings and with dips. Recommended requirements usually mean a comfortable 60 frames per second on medium or high settings.
Remember that publishers write requirements for different goals: some for 1080p, others for 4K. Check which resolution your line is meant for.
Using the bot
- Open the bot and press start. It will offer a choice of language.
- Send a game title. An exact name, as in the store page, works best.
- Wait for the analysis. The bot compares your PC with the requirements.
- Read the result. It shows what fits and what to strengthen.
Check before or after buying
Check before you pay. Stores do not always refund, and games have refund terms, for example a limit on playtime. If you already suspect your PC is at its limit, do not gamble.
Recheck older purchases after big updates too: games grow hungrier with patches and expansions. Once every six months, run a couple of favorites to see how much headroom your hardware has.
If you are building a new computer, test several games you plan to play and aim for the most demanding of them.
If your PC falls short
Do not rush to replace everything. Often there is one weak link: the graphics card or the amount of memory. Adding a memory stick costs less than buying a new system.
If everything lags behind, consider a cloud gaming service or waiting for a discount and saving on the upgrade. Older titles often run fine on budget hardware 🎮
Limits of the check
Any automatic check gives an estimate, not a guarantee. Performance is shaped by drivers, temperature, background programs and the game's own optimization. Patches can change the outcome after release.
If you find a bug in the bot, its profile lists a separate channel for bug reports and feedback.
