About this App
A coworker sent a seven minute voice note, and the actual task is buried somewhere between the ums and the side stories. No time to listen, but you can't skip it either. TL;DL transcribes messages like that, strips the filler and gives you a short summary you can read in about twenty seconds. 🎙️
The name stands for Too Long; Didn't Listen.
From rambling audio to action points
The bot does more than speech to text. It cleans the transcript of repetition and filler words, organizes the content and pulls out what matters.
- Voice messages. Anywhere from 30 seconds to 15 minutes long.
- Video notes. The round video messages, from 30 seconds, including noisy clips recorded on the go.
- Forwarding. Send your own voice note or forward someone else's from any chat.
- Languages. It handles several languages, not only Russian.
Anything under 30 seconds is skipped. Those are quicker to just play.
A helper inside your team chat
The standout feature is that you can add TL;DL to a group. Every long voice note then gets a summary underneath, and the whole team reads the point without turning the sound on. 💼
That is a lifesaver for managers and anyone stuck in meetings. A voice note arrives mid-call, and a minute later you know whether it needs an urgent reply. The /addtochat command walks you through adding the bot to a group.
Getting started
- Launch. Tap Open and start the bot.
- Test it. Forward any voice note longer than 30 seconds.
- Read. A few seconds later you get a summary with the key points.
- Team mode. If you like it, send /addtochat and pick your work group.
- Stats. The /mystats command shows how many messages you have processed.
What it costs
TL;DL runs on a subscription with flexible plans, from a single day up to a year. You can grab short access for a hectic week instead of committing to a full year. The bot shows current prices before you pay. 💳
There is a referral program too. Share the bot and for six months you get 20% of every payment made by people you invited. The /referral command has the details.
Before adding it to a work group
Voice notes in work chats often include things that shouldn't leave the team: numbers, client names, plans. For transcription the audio goes to the service's servers, as with any bot of this kind. 🔒
- Tell your colleagues. People appreciate knowing their voice notes are being turned into text.
- Keep secrets out. Passwords, card details and confidential deals don't belong in voice notes or text.
- Double check details. Transcription can slip on surnames, amounts and dates. Verify important figures against the original.
