LyricsBot: Song Lyrics in Chat

About this App

The tune keeps looping in your head, but the words slip away. Or you want to know what your favorite band is really singing about. LyricsBot searches for song lyrics: type a title or a line, and the words land in your chat 🎵

How to search

The /lyrics command starts a search. Give the artist and title, or jot down what you remember from the chorus, and the bot tries to find the song. The author says it works with any artists, styles and genres.

A short command list is fine here: the interface is simple, and the dialog is the interface.

Eight commands in the menu

  • /lyrics. The main lyrics search.
  • /translate and /t. Translate the found text, handy for songs in foreign languages.
  • /history. Your past queries, so returning to last week's song is easy.
  • /me. Your usage statistics.
  • /lang. Switch the interface between Russian and English.
  • /donate. Support the author if the bot was useful.
  • /help. A short guide.

Why translation matters

People often sing along in a foreign language without understanding the words. A translation helps you hear the story. Still, machine translation of poetry loses rhyme, imagery and wordplay. Take it as a hint, not an exact copy 🌍

For language study, read the original first, then the translation, then listen to the song again. Three passes teach more than ten views of the translation alone.

When nothing turns up

Sometimes the lyrics do not come up. The usual reasons are these:

  1. A typo in the title. Try spelling the artist differently, in Latin or Cyrillic letters.
  2. A query that is too general. "Love" fits a thousand songs, so add the artist's name.
  3. A new or obscure song. The text may appear later or may never be published.
  4. A live recording or remix. Their words can differ, so search for the original version.

Rights and etiquette

Song lyrics are protected by copyright. Reading the words for yourself is fine, but copying them in full onto your site or into an ad without permission is not. For quotes in posts or captions, take a couple of lines and name the author 📌

If you perform in public or record covers, check the rules of the platform where you plan to post.

Who it is for

People who want to sing along without mistakes. Language learners who use music. DJs and vocalists who need words at hand. And everyone who has struggled to recall a line from a song heard long ago.

The bot opens fast and suits short sessions. Find the words, sing along, close the chat.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find song lyrics in LyricsBot?▼
Send the /lyrics command and give the artist and title. If you only remember a line from the chorus, type it and the bot tries to find the song by it. If that fails, refine the query.
Can I translate the lyrics?▼
Yes, the menu has the /translate and /t commands. They translate found words, which helps with songs in foreign languages. Keep in mind that a translation of poetry is approximate and does not carry the rhyme.
Is my search history stored?▼
The menu has a /history command that shows your past queries. It lets you return to a song without recalling the title. Usage statistics are available through /me.
Which languages does the bot support?▼
The interface comes in Russian and English and switches with /lang. Lyrics are searched across artists, styles and genres, as the author states. If a song is missing, try spelling the artist another way.
