You can learn English in a hundred apps. But what if you need Estonian, Lithuanian or Kazakh? The choice shrinks fast. KeelAI gathers such languages in one place: open the mini app in Telegram and go to the bot you need. 🗣️
The project began with the founder's own frustration: he was learning Estonian and could not find convenient tools. That is how a set of AI tutors for less popular languages appeared.
One entrance, many languages
The app is described as a single entry point to all the language bots. Inside you can open the right bot, check your subscription, learn words through quizzes, practice with flashcards and switch quickly between languages.
According to the description, the available languages are Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Finnish, Polish, Uzbek, Kazakh, Maltese and Spanish. Each language has its own bot, and the mini app works as a hub for them.
Words: quizzes and cards
Quizzes check if you still remember a word, and flashcards help lock it in. A good rhythm: cards for new words first, then a quiz a day later covering everything from before.
Spaced repetition rests on a simple idea. A word you recalled easily appears less often. A word that was hard comes back sooner. That way your time goes to the difficult material.
Talking to an AI tutor
According to the project's website, the bots can practice in text and in voice, and the voice models are trained on the speech of real native speakers. The point is to hear natural pronunciation rather than mechanical text-to-speech.
Voice practice is simple: you say a phrase, get an answer and try again without fear of mistakes. For people who understand everything but stay silent, this is the most useful format. 🎤
How to keep going
- Short sessions. Ten minutes every day beat two hours once a week.
- One language at a time. Quick switching is handy, but a beginner should stay on one track for a few weeks.
- Speak aloud. Reading a word and pronouncing it are separate skills.
- Phrases over words. A word in context sticks better than a word in a list.
Who benefits most
It suits people who are relocating, work with partners abroad or simply want to understand the language of their neighbors. Rarer languages tend to be thin in textbooks, so a flexible AI conversation partner is especially handy here.
Subscription and first launch
The bot menu has a subscription section. Check plans and the language list inside the app before paying, since terms may differ between languages. 💳
- Open the bot and send /start.
- Choose a language with /languages.
- Go to the language bot, or begin with quizzes and flashcards.
- Look at /subscription and read the terms.
- If something breaks, write to /support.
An AI tutor is great for practice and review, but it does not replace a course or a live teacher on complex topics. For an exam, combine it with a textbook and feedback from a person. 📚
