You can play a game of chess in Telegram without installing anything. EdChess runs as a mini app: open the bot, press /start and the board is on your screen. There is nothing to download.
The project also has a money side: tournaments with prize pools, matches with crypto entry fees and token rewards. That is why the app is meant for adults, and the money part gets its own section below.
What the bot description promises
The developers list several modes, all inside one mini app.
- Tournaments with prize pools. Players compete under the same conditions, and the best finishers receive prizes.
- Daily quests and puzzles. Chess problems and tasks you can solve every day.
- 1v1 matches. A game against a live opponent. In some modes the entry is paid in cryptocurrency.
- Anti-cheat protection. The project claims a system meant to catch players who use engine help.
- Rewards in TON and project tokens. Prizes come as crypto, not only as a rating.
Money and chess: where the line sits
Chess is a game of skill, which sets it far apart from slots. But once players pay an entry fee and the winner takes the pot, the mode is a competition for money. The stronger player wins more often, yet losing is always possible, and the entry fee does not come back.
If you plan to play paid matches, decide in advance how much you can afford to lose and do not raise the stakes to win it back. Play for money only if you are an adult and only where local law allows it.
Getting better at chess without spending
Earning is optional: the app has puzzles and training modes. Daily puzzles train tactics, and tactics usually lift a beginner's rating fastest.
A few habits that work in any chess app:
- Solve a few puzzles every day rather than ten at the weekend.
- After a loss, find the moment you dropped a piece and think about how to avoid it.
- Take the center early and develop the minor pieces.
- Play slower games until you are comfortable with the clock.
Tokens and the wallet
For rewards and entry fees the app needs a crypto wallet on the TON network. Connect a separate wallet holding a small amount, not your main savings.
The project token and its price remain promises. Statements about a coming launch do not guarantee any particular value. Do not put money in expecting future growth.
Support and community
The project runs separate channels in Russian and English with news, tournament announcements and rules. Before joining a paid event, read the terms of that tournament: the fee, the number of prize places and the payout date are set by the organizers.
