You got a copyright notice and your channel holds hundreds of posts. Hunting for the flagged ones by hand is slow and stressful. Multi Purpose Telegram Bot, listed in bot directories as a DMCA bot, was made for exactly this moment: it helps a channel owner remove material a rights holder complained about. 📩
Where that notice comes from
DMCA is the US law on copyright online. When a rights holder finds their content in someone else's channel, they file a complaint, and Telegram sends the channel owner a message from its service account for copyright matters.
The message lists the posts that have to go. Ignore these notices and the channel can get restricted, so a fast reaction pays off, especially with a big archive.
Three steps instead of manual cleanup
- Make the bot an admin in your channel.
- Forward it the notice you received from the copyright service account.
- Wait for processing. The bot reads the forwarded message and tries to delete the posts named in the complaint.
The only command is /start, so there is no menu to learn. The whole conversation is one forwarded message.
Why it asks to add members
Because of Bot API limits, a bot cannot delete messages as freely as a regular account. It needs special rights, and one of them is adding members. That lets it bring another user into the channel, who then does the deleting.
So you hand a stranger's bot real power over your channel. Before you tap "Add as admin", ask yourself if you trust its owner. Grant only the rights required and remove the bot from the admin list afterwards. 🔐
Open source, with a warning attached
The bot's description says it is an Open Source project and points to the author's post. Its signature says it runs on Telethon snippets, Telethon being a popular Python library for talking to Telegram.
Open code has a practical upside: you can read it and run your own copy. Then the permissions go to your instance and not to someone else's.
The profile also carries an honest disclaimer. The bot has no connection to Telegram, and you use it at your own risk. Take that seriously. ⚠️
What the bot will not do for you
- It will not cancel the complaint. If a violation happened, deleting posts only cleans up the consequences.
- It is no replacement for a lawyer. If you think the complaint is wrong, there is a separate dispute procedure.
- It guarantees nothing. The outcome depends on the rights you granted and on what the notice says.
The best way to avoid these notices is to publish what you have rights to and to credit your sources.
Who it fits and who can skip it
It suits admins of large channels with a long archive, and people who run roundups and reposts, where complaints are more likely. For them, forwarding one message beats scrolling through the feed. 🗂
If the complaint covers a single post, deleting it manually is simpler. The bot's audience is small, around 33 users a month, so there is little shared experience with it. That is one more reason not to hand out extra permissions.
