In an active group, messages pile up faster than anyone can clear them: ads, one-off questions, service replies. Deleting all of it by hand is tiring. AutoDelete takes over the cleanup and keeps a group or channel in order.
The bot description lists three jobs: delete group messages after 10 minutes, delete all channel messages, and purge a group. The bot shows the details after you press Start. 😌
Three cleanup modes
- Messages live for 10 minutes. Whatever is written in the group disappears after the set time, and the chat stays light.
- Channel wipe. The bot deletes all channel messages, which helps when you want a fresh start.
- Group purge. A one-time removal of piled-up messages without manual work.
The modes solve different problems, so decide which one you actually need before switching anything on.
Who needs a chat with a short memory
Auto-deletion suits groups where the conversation lives in the moment: coordination at an event, quick questions, service chats where only fresh information matters. History is not needed there, and extra messages get in the way.
For discussions that people revisit weeks later, a short timer is a poor fit. Members will not find earlier answers and rules.
Which rights the bot needs
To delete messages the bot needs admin rights with permission to delete other people's messages. It usually needs nothing else, so do not grant extras.
Add it as an admin and check the permission list. The fewer rights a bot holds, the smaller the damage if it ever misbehaves.
Deletion cannot be undone
Deleted messages do not come back. Before you start a channel wipe or a group purge, save what matters: important posts, pinned rules, links and files. It is wise to try the mode in a test group first.
Tell members that messages vanish on a timer. Then nobody is surprised by a missing answer, and people keep what is important themselves.
Telegram has its own timer
Telegram itself offers an auto-delete function for chats, groups and channels. In groups and channels, admins turn it on. If the ready-made intervals are enough for you, you can skip the bot.
A separate bot makes sense when you need a shorter period such as 10 minutes, or a one-time cleanup. For ordinary cases, look at the built-in chat settings first.
Choosing an admin bot with care
- Give the bot the minimum rights and review them in the admin list.
- Test it in a spare group before launching in your main chat.
- Find out who maintains the bot and whether they answer questions.
- Keep a copy of important content outside the chat.
