Jan VPN: A VPN Inside Telegram

Mini App • VPN & Privacy

About this App

Want a VPN you can run without leaving your messenger? Jan VPN launches as a mini app inside Telegram. Its authors call it the fastest virtual server service in the CIS region.

That claim comes from the developers, so test the speed yourself. The good news: the service openly says it is just starting out and asks for feedback.

What it costs

The prices are right out in the open, which is a plus. The plans are:

1 month: 200 rubles.
3 months: 600 rubles.
6 months: 1200 rubles.
1 year: 2400 rubles.

The math is simple: every plan works out to 200 rubles a month, with no discount for longer terms. So there is no reason to pay for a year until you are sure about the quality.

What the description promises

The service names four things: instant connection to favorite services, no ads, support for favorite platforms, and reliable servers for security and privacy.

You manage everything through the mini app, and the bot has two commands: /start and /help. For basic tasks that is enough.

A one-evening test plan

Launch the bot with /start and open the mini app.
Buy the shortest plan, one month.
Run a speed test with and without the VPN.
Open the video, messengers and sites you wanted a VPN for.
Check whether the link drops in the evening peak.

What a mini app really is

A Telegram mini app is a web page that opens inside the messenger window. Nothing to install, the interface loads like a website, and sign-in goes through your Telegram account.

The VPN connection itself usually still needs a client app or a device setting. What Jan VPN requires is best confirmed in the help available through /help.

Before you pay

A VPN provider sees which addresses your traffic goes to. Privacy wording in a description is no substitute for a public policy, so if you handle sensitive data, ask first what logs the service keeps.

The service is young and its audience is small: around 240 monthly active users. Independent reviews are scarce, so rely on your own test and pay for a short period.

Keep the law in mind as well: use a VPN within the rules of your country and never to bypass restrictions that are illegal to bypass.
