About this App
The file you need sits on a website, and you do not want to download it to your phone just to upload it to Telegram again. URL Uploader does it for you: you send a link, the bot fetches the file onto its servers and delivers it to the chat. 🔗
Your phone data and memory stay untouched. The file simply appears in your conversation.
How to send a link
Open the bot, press Start and send the file address. The bot does the rest and returns the file as a message.
- Press Start in the bot.
- Send a link to the file.
- Wait for the upload.
- If the file name was detected wrongly, send the link again with the desired name after a vertical bar.
The format: link, space, vertical bar, space, then the name with an extension. The bot renames the file on upload. ✏️
Which links the bot understands
According to its description, the bot works with direct file links, as well as with links from some social networks and file-sharing sites. A cloud drive can also be linked via the /gdrive command.
A torrent manager is available through /torrents. See inside the bot for the details of what it can do.
Limits you should know
- File size: up to 500 MB at a time.
- Daily quota: 1 GB per day on the free plan.
- Raising limits: the /upgrade command offers a paid plan, with terms shown inside the bot.
You can check the remaining quota with /usage. That helps when you need to upload several files in a row.
Delivery settings
The bot lets you choose how the file arrives. /file_as_video sends it as a video you can watch right in the chat. /file_as_file sends it as an ordinary file without compression.
You can turn screenshots on, set a permanent thumbnail with /set_thumbnail and cancel it with /cancel_thumbnail. /files opens the list of recent uploads. 🖼️
When it helps
- You need to forward a large file from a website to several people.
- You want to keep material in Telegram's cloud instead of on a disk.
- A link is short-lived and you want to grab the file in time.
Practical tips
Before uploading, make sure the link is direct, meaning it leads to the file itself and not to a page with a download button. If the bot fails, open the link in a browser and check that the download starts at once.
Split big archives into parts smaller than the limit and upload them one by one. Watch the daily quota, otherwise you will wait for the next day or switch to a paid plan. ⏳
Caution and ethics
Do not upload material you have no right to distribute. Copyright applies in Telegram too. 📌
Do not send the bot links with personal data or passwords in the address: it is better not to show anything private to a third-party service. Scan unfamiliar files with antivirus before opening them.
The audience is sizable: catalogs show about 18 thousand users, with almost as many opening the bot monthly. 👥
