About this App
The chat is dull and you cannot get a group together for a board game? True Mafia turns any Telegram group into a Mafia table. The bot takes the host's role, and you just play. 🤵🏻
A host who never slips and never peeks
Classic Mafia needs a person who deals roles and runs the night. That is tedious, because the host does not play. Here the bot does that job.
It assigns roles, runs night moves, organises the day vote and announces the result. The game is free, as stated in the bot's description.
Setting up a match
- Add the bot to a group chat through the "Add to Group" menu.
- Give it admin rights, otherwise it cannot run the game.
- Start with the /game command and wait for players to gather.
- Follow the bot's prompts. It explains the rules to newcomers itself.
The roles you will meet
If you have never played, the idea is simple: some players are secretly the mafia, the rest are townsfolk. By day everyone talks and votes on who to expel, by night the mafia picks a victim.
- Don leads the mafia.
- Commissioner checks players at night.
- Doctor saves whoever they choose.
- Maniac plays only for themselves.
Your first match: advice for newcomers
Do not panic if you get a tricky role. Listen to others, remember who said what, and hold off on accusations in the first round. A newcomer finds it easiest to play a townsperson.
Townsfolk are helped by logic: look for contradictions in what players say and notice who defends others too eagerly. The mafia, by contrast, must look natural and not betray itself with extra confidence.
The bot's commands
The list is short, and every command is useful.
- /profile opens your game profile.
- /leave lets you leave a match.
- /language changes the language.
- /issue writes to the developer (Russian or English only).
Mafia lives on conversation, so players need to be in the mood to talk. It works best in a chat of friends who know each other and do not take "accusations" personally.
Agree on a time in advance: night moves and voting take minutes, and waiting for latecomers is annoying. Do not leave eliminated players bored: let them watch, but not hint while the match continues. 🎭
Mafia for a big crowd
The more people, the livelier the discussion, but the longer the match. One or two matches fill an evening, and in a big chat it helps to agree on conduct rules in advance.
Ask participants to write briefly and not interrupt each other. Then everyone can speak during the day and the bot host does not have to wait. If someone gets distracted, leaving through /leave is better than holding up the rest. 👥
If the bot does not respond
Check that it is added to the group and has admin rights. Then try starting the game again. If that does not help, write to the developer through /issue and describe the problem.
Never type passwords or codes in the chat, even if a "player" asks. The game needs none of them. 🔒
