Telegram can make text bold, italic, struck through, hidden and monospace on its own. But if you want gothic letters, handwritten swirls or "bubbles", the built-in tools fall short. That is where the Fancy Fonts bot comes in. 🖌

How it differs from Telegram formatting

The messenger's formatting works only inside Telegram, and only where it is allowed. For example, you cannot turn on bold in a profile name.

Decorated text from the bot is made of ordinary symbols, so it travels anywhere: a name, a group description, a photo caption, other apps.

Built-in formatting. Reads reliably everywhere, but the set of styles is limited.
Symbol fonts. More variety, but they depend on the device.

A good trick: write the phrase in a plain font first, judge the meaning, and only then style it. Fancy letters do not replace content. If the text is weak, style will not save it, but a strong thought gets underlined well.

It looks best in short things you want to stand out among similar ones.

Name and bio. An eye-catching line in the chat list.

Limits worth knowing

Stylized symbols may not display on older devices: empty boxes appear instead of letters. So check how the text looks on a friend's different phone.

Search is another minus. A word typed in unusual symbols will not match a normal query. Keep the name of a channel or service with a key word in a plain font. Screen readers may also spell such text out letter by letter, which is hard on people with visual impairments.

A five-word title in "gothic" is heavy to read. Use the style in moderation. ⚠️
