START Cinema Bot for Telegram

Evening, sofa, no idea what to watch. Opening a separate app feels like work, and you are in Telegram anyway. For that moment the online cinema START built a bot with a mini app: films and series play right inside the chat. 🍿

This is the official bot of the service, not a third-party pile of links. The catalog is the same as in the cinema itself, and the interface follows its website and mobile app.

Movies without the detour

The mini app opens inside Telegram. You download nothing and you do not go to a website. Press the Watch button, land in the catalog and pick what to play.

START was among the first Russian cinemas to launch this format, and trade news covered it in March 2025.

Finding the right title

There are two ways, and both are easy:

• Message the bot a title of a film or series, and it looks for matches.
• Browse the catalog in the mini app if you have not decided yet.
• Search by keywords such as genre, actor or director name, or release year.

Searching by actor helps when you remember the face but the title slipped your mind. 🎬

Subscription and sign-in

START runs on a paid subscription model. In the bot you can buy access or sign in to an existing account if you already use the cinema elsewhere.

Check the current plans and terms on the checkout screen. They change, so quoting prices here would not help. Read the service's user agreement before you pay.

Watching in about a minute

1. Open the bot and press Start or send /start.
2. Tap Watch to launch the mini app.
3. Sign in or buy a subscription.
4. Pick a film or series and press play.

If you have watched something in the cinema's own app before, your account carries over along with your usual access.

What the mini app format is good for

The big advantage is that cinema sits in your messenger. A friend is talking about a series? Open the bot, type the name, watch. Sharing a specific title in a chat is easy too.

There are limits, as with any mini app: you need a stable connection, and quality depends on it. For a long session on a big screen a TV or tablet is better, while Telegram suits a quick start and search.

How to tell the official bot from lookalikes

Telegram is full of bots with similar names promising every film for free. Some of them push channel subscriptions or ask for card details. The official START bot is tied to the real cinema. For payment and access questions, contact the service's support, not random chats.

The rule is simple: never share SMS codes or bank card details outside the service's own payment window. 🙂
