About this App
You have a dozen sites you want to follow and no desire to open them one by one. RSS-ify keeps it simple: you add a feed, and new posts show up in Telegram on their own. 📰
The bot was built by an independent developer. The project is open source, has a description page, and runs on NodeJS as a lightweight service.
A feed without the noise
RSS is the old, reliable format where a website publishes a list of its latest posts. The bot watches that list and forwards anything new to you.
There is no recommendation algorithm. You only see what you subscribed to, in the order it was published.
Commands you will actually use
- /add: add a new feed.
- /list: see what you follow.
- /del: remove a single feed.
- /pause and /resume: stop updates for a while and bring them back.
- /export and /import: save your subscriptions as OPML or load them from another reader.
- /set: choose a group topic where entries will land.
Your first feed in a minute
- Start the bot with /start.
- Find the RSS address of a favorite blog or news site.
- Send /add and paste the address.
- Check the result with /list.
If a site has no obvious RSS button, the feed address is often in the page source or on a subscribe page.
Groups and topics
You can add the bot to a group that has topics enabled. Use /set to pick one, and feed entries gather there without interrupting the main conversation. 💬
This suits a team that needs a digest of industry news, or a community built around a single subject.
Moving from another reader
If you already use a feed reader, export your subscriptions to OPML and load them with /import. You will not need to add every feed by hand.
The way back is open too: /export gives you a file that nearly any RSS client understands. You are never locked in. 🔄
Keeping the message flood under control
Do not subscribe to a hundred feeds at once. The author asks users to be reasonable and not overload the shared bot instance.
Start with five or ten sources. If one posts too often, pause it or delete it. ⏸️
The bot runs on the author's servers, so uptime is not guaranteed. It is worth exporting your subscriptions to a file now and then to keep a backup.
