About this App
You linked a group to your channel, and now every channel post is copied into the chat. The feed fills with duplicates and real conversation scrolls away. No Discuss Bot does one job: it deletes the channel messages forwarded into the linked group. 🧹
It is a small single-purpose bot with no menus and no pile of settings. Here is how it works and where the catches are.
Where the duplicates come from
When a discussion group is connected to a channel, Telegram itself forwards every new post into it. That copy exists for comments, because replies are posted under it.
If you do not want comments and use the group as an ordinary chat, those copies only get in the way. Removing them by hand gets old quickly.
What the bot does
It watches the group and deletes messages that came from the linked channel. It has a single command, /start. Everything else happens in the background.
- Auto-delete: post copies vanish from the chat on their own.
- No commands: once set up, there is nothing to type.
- Duplicates only: its scope is limited to forwards from the channel.
Setup in four steps
- Open the bot and tap /start.
- Add it to the group that is linked to your channel.
- Make it an admin and enable the right to delete messages.
- Publish a post in the channel and check that the copy disappears from the chat.
Without the delete permission the bot can do nothing, and that is the most common reason people say it is broken.
The catch: comments under posts
This is the main point. In Telegram, comments on a channel post live as a thread under the forwarded copy in the group. Delete the copy and the thread is gone, so the post loses its comment section.
That makes the bot a fit for people who have deliberately given up on comments. If you want them, think twice before connecting it.
When it earns its place
- Community chats: the group lives its own life while the channel only announces.
- Topic chats: posts should not interrupt the conversation.
- Large groups: moderators have no time to clean the feed by hand.
If you only want the duplicates to stop distracting people but still need comments, look at other discussion setups, such as a separate group that is not linked to the channel.
Admin rights: keep them minimal
The bot needs only message deletion. Switch off the other admin rights (banning, invites, pinning). Fewer permissions means less risk if anything goes wrong.
Now and then, review the admin list of your group and remove bots you no longer use. 🔒
