About this App
Your friend lives across town, but you want a game of checkers tonight. Happy Games does that right in Telegram: open the Mini App, send your opponent a link and play. The bot calls itself a collection of timeless games, and all of them are free.
There is nothing to install. The bot menu has a quick launch labeled PLAY 1 CLICK to jump straight into a match 🎲.
Six classic games at hand
According to the project site, these games are available now:
- Checkers under Russian draughts rules, with compulsory captures and completed jump chains.
- Backgammon in short and long versions, the long one with a head rule.
- Giveaway Checkers: the usual board with a reversed goal.
- Tic-Tac-Toe on a three by three grid.
- Dominoes in Block and Draw styles.
- Corners.
The bot description also mentions chess, but the site lists it as an idea for later, not as available.
Inviting a friend to a match
A game with a friend is created inside the app, which generates an invitation for that specific match. You can also play on one device by passing the phone back and forth.
- Open the bot and launch the Mini App.
- Choose a game from the list.
- Create a match and send the invite to a chat.
- Wait for your opponent and make your move.
Rules people forget most often
In checkers, capturing is compulsory. If a capture is possible, you may not move otherwise, and it helps to know this so a forced move does not surprise you. In backgammon, the difference between short and long versions matters: setup and the head rule change.
In dominoes, pick the style in advance: in Block you cannot draw tiles, while in Draw you take them from the stock. The site has short guides on rules and tactics, such as forks in tic-tac-toe and bearing off in backgammon.
Languages and support
The project site is available in English, Ukrainian, Russian and Spanish. An official channel and a support contact are listed in the bot description. Write there if a game freezes or an invitation will not open.
Getting better at the board
Start with relaxed practice against someone you know instead of fast blitz games. In checkers, keep pieces in groups and do not rush to open your back rows. In backgammon, count your exit options for each dice roll ahead of time.
Write down games you lost and return to them a day later. A mistake you found yourself sticks better than any advice.
A quick match on a break
Classic games suit short pauses. Play for fifteen minutes and get back to work. If you are playing with a child or a parent, pick something simpler like corners or tic-tac-toe.
