Sometimes you want to talk to someone who does not need to know who you are or where you live. An anonymous chat bot in Telegram does exactly that: you open it, get matched with a stranger and type without a name or a profile photo 💬
The bot is called "Anonymous Chat: Communication and Dating". Its profile promises "magical acquaintances" and matching by the gender of the person you want to talk to. Below is how chats like this work and what to watch for so the conversation stays pleasant.
Pick who you talk to, skip the random draw
The main feature in the profile is gender-based matching: you say if the person on the other side should be a girl or a guy. In ordinary chat roulettes the partner is random, and the first few minutes go to finding out who is on the other end.
Here the choice happens up front. For dating that saves time. Fewer empty dialogs, better odds of landing someone you actually want to talk to.
What a conversation looks like
Anonymous bots follow nearly the same pattern. The usual order goes like this:
- Start. Press /start and read the bot's prompts.
- Choose. Say which gender you want to be matched with.
- Search. The bot connects you with the first suitable person who is online right now.
- Talk. Messages go through the bot, so the other person never sees your profile.
- Switch. If the chat goes nowhere, end it and look for someone else.
Check the bot itself for the exact commands and buttons, since they can change.
What stays hidden and what does not
Anonymity in these chats means one thing: your partner cannot see your username, phone number or account photo. It does not make you invisible to everyone. Your messages pass through the bot's server, and its owner technically has access to them.
So the rules are short:
- Never share your surname, address, workplace or school.
- Never send documents, payment details or SMS codes.
- Never open links from a stranger, however charming they are 🙂
- Never send personal photos you would hate to see in someone else's hands.
When to hit stop
All kinds of people use anonymous chats. Some want a friendly talk, some push ads, and some try to get money out of you or quickly move the conversation to another messenger.
The red flags are familiar: an urgent request for a money transfer, an invitation to a private channel, a story about winnings or investments, an overly fast "I like you". You can end a dialog at any moment, and that is perfectly fine. You owe nothing to someone you have known for a minute.
Why talking without a face appeals to people
People pick anonymous talk because it is easier to open up when nobody sees your face. Some practice a foreign language, some look for company for the evening, some want to discuss things they would not tell friends 🌙
It is a gentle way to make a first contact. If the talk goes well, wait a while before moving to personal messengers, until some trust has built up.
The bot is meant for adults. Teenagers are safer in interest-based chats with moderators and clear rules.
Ads and other small things
The bot's profile lists a contact for advertising questions, so the owner accepts ads. Read them as ads: promises of easy money and "exclusive" matches almost always lead to a place where someone will ask you for something.
If something suspicious lands in the chat, simply end the dialog. You can also report abuse through Telegram itself from the chat menu 🛡
