Dialog Spy Bot: Deleted Message Copies

Someone wrote something important, then deleted it a minute later. Or edited it until the original meaning was gone. Dialog Spy Bot sends you a copy of the deleted message, the original text before an edit, and even photos and videos sent with a timer. 👀

It is a tool for personal chats, and it carries serious privacy questions. They are covered below.

Three things the bot catches

• Deleted messages: if the other person erases a message, the bot sends you a copy.
• Edited messages: after an edit, you receive the original wording.
• Timed media: self-destructing photos and videos can be downloaded.

It works in your personal dialogues to which you have connected the bot. Other people's chats where you are not a participant stay out of its reach.

How to connect the bot to your account

The bot uses Telegram Business mode: you let it receive messages from your private chats. Telegram settings have a separate chatbots section for that.

1. Open the bot and press /start for the instructions.
2. Go to Telegram settings, open Telegram Business, then chatbots.
3. Enter the bot's name and choose which chats it may access.

The /stats command shows chat statistics. If you do not need every dialogue covered, connect the bot selectively.

What the bot cannot do

Telegram hands the bot only the ID of a deleted message, not its text. So the bot stores messages as they arrive and looks them up by number later.

That means it can recover only what arrived after you connected it. Messages deleted long ago stay gone.

Privacy cuts both ways

A connected bot sees your private correspondence. Choose a service you trust and do not attach it to chats that discuss passwords, finances or other people's secrets.

There is an ethical side too. A person deleted a message because they changed their mind. Keeping such copies and showing them to others is wrong, and in several countries it breaks personal data laws.

• Do not forward saved copies to third parties.
• Do not use them for blackmail or pressure.
• Tell people close to you that you save the conversation, if that matters to you.

When it helps

The scenarios are few but real: a client deleted an agreement in a work chat, a family conversation needs the exact wording, someone rewrote their words after the fact in an argument.

If you plan to use the bot to watch a partner or children behind their backs, think twice: trust collapses faster than it forms. A direct conversation usually works better than any program. 🤝
