About this App
Since late August 2025 Telegram profiles can show music. Some people pin a favorite song. Others want that spot to say something of their own: a joke, a quote, a partner's name or just today's mood. Custom Now Playing is built for the second group. 🎧
The bot speaks English and Russian, and more than 470,000 people have used it.
Where the track name comes from
Telegram's player shows whatever sits in the audio file's metadata: the "artist" field and the "title" field. Normally a label or uploader fills those in.
Rewrite them and your profile shows any text you like. Telegram itself has no option to edit these fields, which is why a separate bot comes in handy.
Ideas for your fake track
- A status. "Do not disturb until Monday" or "On vacation, replying later".
- A joke. Artist "Mom", track "Did you eat?" lands with everyone.
- A signature. Your project name, job title or motto for anyone who opens your profile.
- A note for someone. A few words for the person who you know checks your profile. 💌
Getting it onto your profile
- Open the bot and set the track title and artist following its prompts.
- Receive the audio file carrying your custom labels.
- Play the file in the chat so the player appears.
- Tap the player bar at the top of the screen and add the track to your profile.
The steps match on Android and iPhone. Tracks in Saved Messages don't appear on your profile automatically. Only songs you add for the profile show up.
Small tricks that help
- Shorter reads better. Long titles get cut off on small screens, so put the key words first.
- Emoji work. One or two make the line pop. More than that gets messy.
- Check the order. Your profile shows the top track in the list. If you added several, see which one visitors get.
- Change it with your mood. Removing an old track and adding a new one takes a minute.
A word on safety
To relabel a track, the bot only needs the text you type in the chat. It never needs to log in to your account, and it has no use for a confirmation code or password. 🔒
If any bot like this asks for your Telegram code or "phone number authorization," close the chat. That is an attempt to steal your account.
Also keep in mind that everyone who can see your profile sees that line. Don't put anything there you wouldn't say out loud in a group chat.
Who will enjoy it
Anyone who likes small personal touches: a quirky status, a custom avatar, carefully picked emoji. A custom track takes a minute, and friends will definitely notice. 😉
