Serfbot: GIF meme games for groups

A group chat with no activity quickly turns into a sticker archive. Serfbot tries to fix that: it calls everyone to play, and it does so with the best-known GIF memes. 🧩

In its description the bot calls itself a game bot with the most legendary GIF memes. Add it to a group, press Start, and your company gets a reason to compete.

A game with progress

Serfbot is not a single round for its own sake. It has its own profile, a shop and a global top. So a win today leaves a trace, and tomorrow you want to come back.

That kind of progress holds interest better than one-off quizzes. Each player gets a digital business card that is nice to show friends.

The bot's commands

The menu has just five main commands, so it is easy to learn:

• /profile shows your profile.
• /shop opens the shop.
• /farm lets you farm gems.
• /gtop prints the global top.
• /help lists the commands.

Gems are the in-game currency. You gather them with /farm and spend them in the shop. Real money is not needed for that, but check the terms inside the bot. 💎

Adding the bot to a group

1. Open the bot profile and press Start.
2. Choose adding to a group and pick the chat.
3. Grant the permissions it asks for. Do not give extra ones.
4. Write /help in the group and check the available commands.
5. Call your friends and start competing.

If the chat is big, agree on rules in advance: when to play and how to share the top. That prevents arguments.

Why GIF memes in a game

GIF memes work as the language of the internet: one animation replaces a paragraph of text. Games built on recognizing memes pull people in more than dry questions, since everyone has feelings attached to a picture.

If your group loves humor, this format gives it something to discuss beyond the game itself. 😄

What an admin should consider

Before adding the bot to a large chat, think about message frequency. Game bots can flood the feed, and then important announcements get lost. Decide on playing hours, or create a separate group for games.

Watch the GIF content too: make sure it suits your chat, especially if teenagers or a work team are present. A bot does not replace moderation.

Ideas for an evening

Hold a weekend mini tournament: agree on a time, check the global top at the start and at the end. The winner earns the title of chat champion, and the rest get a reason for a rematch.

You can also play in turns: a different member answers each day. That keeps even the quietest people in the group involved.

Where to get help

The project has a chat for players, and the author runs other bots, linked in the profile. Do not accept invitations from strangers in private messages and do not follow doubtful links. Look for the author only through the bot profile.
