ByteMe: Your zkHero in Telegram

Mini App • Airdrops & Quests

About this App

Crypto has more bots than people, and projects keep inventing ways to tell living users from scripts. ByteMe is a Telegram mini app from the zkMe team: it builds a fun profile page from a check that you are a person, and it collects points for activity. 🦸

The bot has around 135 thousand users. The game launched in December 2024 for the project's two-year anniversary. Here is how it works and what to know about identity checks.

A hero that collects points

At the center is zkHero, a "guardian of your data". You get it after completing a report, and from then on it adds points passively at regular intervals.

The rest is familiar from the genre: tasks, a team of friends and level growth. Powering up the hero raises the accumulation.

What proof of personhood means

The project's idea is to confirm that a wallet is controlled by a real, unique human and not a bundle of programs. That helps distribute rewards fairly and keep them out of account farms.

The technology is called a zero-knowledge proof: it lets you prove a fact (such as "I am a person") without revealing the underlying data. The project states that it does not store biometrics in a recoverable form. 🧬

What you actually hand over

The identity check relies on an image of your face. According to the service's privacy policy, it is protected with fully homomorphic encryption. That is strong protection, but the decision is yours.

  • Read the privacy policy before taking the check.
  • Understand the purpose: what rights over the data the project gets and for how long it keeps it.
  • Remember that biometrics cannot be changed like a password.
  • Decline if the terms bother you: some tasks can be played without the check.

Points and rewards

ByteMe points, together with other data, count toward eligibility for the project's future distributions. The first activity snapshot was taken in June 2025, and the project advised completing the identity check to stay on the list.

Neither points nor the check guarantee a reward. The team decides size and timing, and a token's price after release is unpredictable. ⚠️

Getting started

  1. Open the bot and launch the mini app.
  2. Create your hero and watch the points accrue.
  3. Do a few tasks that need no extra data.
  4. Decide on the identity check only after reading the policy.

You can invite friends, but do not promise them income: rewards are not guaranteed. 💡

Avoiding fakes

Identity checks attract scammers who build fake "verification" pages. Take the check only inside the mini app whose link you found in the bot profile.

The check never needs your wallet recovery phrase. Do not send photos of documents or your face in direct messages to people promising to "speed up" a reward. 🔐

A last thought: the game does not replace a thoughtful attitude toward your data. If in doubt, skip the check step and do only simple tasks. It is better to earn fewer points than to hand over data you cannot take back.
