About this App
You built a chat around a shared interest, and by evening it is flooded with posts written in Chinese characters: ads, invites, offers nobody asked for. Deleting each one by hand gets old fast. AntiHanScriptBot does that chore for you: it spots Han characters in messages and removes them from the group. 🧹
What gets deleted
The bot removes any message containing Han script. That is the set of ideographic characters used to write Chinese. The same characters appear in Japanese as kanji and occasionally in Korean as hanja.
One thing to keep in mind. If your group discusses Japanese or anime and people quote kanji, those messages can disappear too. For chats where such characters have no place, that is exactly the point.
Why filter by writing system
Spam in public groups tends to arrive in waves, usually in one language. If your community speaks English or Russian, a message in ideographs is very likely an advertisement. Filtering by script is easier than maintaining a stop-word list, because you do not have to guess specific phrases.
- No word lists. You never rewrite rules after a new spam wave.
- No manual work. The message vanishes without an admin lifting a finger.
- One signal. The bot reacts to the script, not to the topic of conversation.
Setup in a couple of minutes
The steps are the usual ones for moderation bots, and everything happens inside Telegram:
- Open the bot profile and add it to your group.
- Promote it to administrator.
- Give it the permission to delete messages. Nothing else is required.
- Post a test message with one Chinese character and check that it disappears.
The bot has no commands and no settings menu. It works quietly in the background as long as it stays in the group with the right permission. 👍
A small family of order-keeping bots
The author publishes a series of similar utilities for group owners, and the profile stresses that they are free of ads. AntiHanScriptBot arrived as another entry in that line: same idea, different writing system. If you need to filter a different alphabet, look through the author's channel for neighbouring tools.
The bot has gathered roughly 137 thousand users, so it has already been run in a wide variety of chats.
Where it can stumble
Every moderation bot depends on Telegram itself. When the platform lags, a message can stay visible for a few seconds before it goes away. Instant deletion cannot be promised.
- Admin rights. Without the delete permission the bot can do nothing. Check this first if nothing happens.
- Mixed messages. A single ideograph is enough to remove a whole post, even if the rest of the text is fine.
- Channels and bots. If spam is sent on behalf of a channel, add restrictions at the group level as well.
- One filter only. Ads written in Latin letters or Cyrillic slip through and need separate protection.
Who will use it
Owners of large open chats with few moderators and spam that shows up at night. Admins of communities that talk in English or Russian. Anyone who wants simple protection without a control panel.
If your chat teaches Japanese or discusses Chinese services, leave this filter off. The bot is built for a strict rule: no ideographs here. 🎯
A last tip: mention the rule in a pinned message. A member whose kanji post vanished will understand why, and your admins will get fewer complaints.
