Green Elephant: Quote Bot

Some jokes only land with the right audience. The Green Elephant bot is one of them: a quote collection built around the cult line "I'm the green elephant, I'm a cheerful tadpole". If that line rings a bell, you are in the right place. 🐘

If it does not, here is a short explanation of where it comes from and whether the bot is worth opening.

Where the elephant comes from

The green elephant is a Russian cinema meme. A 1999 film by director Svetlana Baskova became both a cult favorite and a scandal, and its lines spread across forums, video sites and chats.

The bot does not retell the film. It packs the phrases into a format that suits messaging: send a command, get a line.

The command list

The set is small and each command does one thing:

• /start launches the bot.
• /inline explains how to send a phrase to your friends straight from a chat.
• /doebal returns a quote.
• /ohyitelnaya sends a "good story".
• /yablochko makes the bot "dance".
• /shedevr offers a musical "masterpiece" to listen to.

The command names are blunt, which tells you the tone right away.

Drop a phrase into any chat

The handiest part is Telegram inline mode. Type the bot name in the message field of any conversation, pick a ready phrase, and it is sent under your name. You never have to open the bot itself.

For friends who answer everything with film quotes, that saves a lot of copying and pasting.

A warning about tone

The source material is harsh, and the humor around it matches. Expect rough language and dark jokes. The bot is meant for adults (18+) and will look odd in a work or family chat.

Read a phrase before you send it to a group. Not everyone knows the context, and irony does not always survive without it. ⚠️

If the jokes do not land

1. Try several commands: the quote and the story differ quite a bit.
2. Use inline mode in a private chat with someone who knows the meme.
3. If the tone is wrong for you, keep the bot out of shared groups.

The bot has gathered around 472 thousand users, so the meme has a big audience. That does not mean the humor will suit you, though.
