About this App
There are thousands of bots in Telegram, and finding the right one through the regular search is not easy: results are crowded with ads and clones. BotList Bot attacks the problem in its own way. It is the official bot of the BotList channel, where bots are sorted into categories. 🤖
You can browse the collections right in the chat with the bot. Around 94 thousand people use it.
Ten commands, each of them useful
The bot understands a fairly long command list. These are the ones to try first:
- /category. Shows a category from the catalog.
- /explore. A browsing mode for discovering bots.
- /search. Searches the catalog.
- /favorites. Your personal list of saved bots.
- /newbots. Recently added bots.
- /subscribe. Notifications when the catalog updates.
There are also /new for adding your own bot, /spam for reporting overly noisy ones, /rules and /help.
Sending a list to a friend
The handiest trick is inline mode. In any chat, type the bot name, then a category word such as music or games. A list pops up, and you send it to the other person without leaving the conversation.
The bot description is written in English and Spanish, so queries in either language make sense. The collections themselves are mostly in English.
What the categories hold
The catalog is split by theme: games, music, sports, news, translation, tools for groups and channels, stickers and GIFs, photography, weather and more. There is also a section for people building their own bots.
The channel uses small symbols as a legend. One mark flags bots that work in inline mode, another flags bots that spam too much, and unavailable bots get their own sign so you do not waste time on them.
If you build bots
The /new command lets you suggest your bot. Submissions are reviewed, and discussion happens in the catalog community chat. Read the rules with /rules before sending: entries with no description or with violations get rejected.
A catalog can bring the first few users, but do not expect magic growth. A good bot wins mostly on its own merits.
Vetting a bot from a list
Being listed does not guarantee safety. Before sharing any data, run a short checklist:
- Read the description. It should explain what the bot does.
- See what it asks for. It has no use for passwords, SMS codes or card details.
- Check permissions. If a bot in a group asks for admin rights, ask yourself why.
- Look at activity. A bot that has been silent for ages will probably not respond.
Why a catalog beats random search
Telegram search ranks bots by name and popularity, not by usefulness. A themed list saves time: you immediately see what exists in your area and compare options. For newcomers it is the calmest way to get to know the bot ecosystem.
If a list feels dated, rely on the new arrivals section and the marks for unavailable bots.
When it comes in handy
Need a translator, a weather bot or a tool for your channel? Open the bot, find a category and pick an option. Save the ones you like to favorites so you do not have to search again. ⭐
