You built your own Telegram bot, and nobody knows it exists. Append Bot (listed in Telegram as "Add Bot") tackles exactly that: it takes requests to place bots in a themed catalog channel. Send the bot's address, pass the check, get published. 📣
The service says it works for all Telegram users. What it offers is a listing, not development or paid promotion.
How to get into the catalog
- Open the bot and press /start.
- Send the address of your bot.
- Wait for the decision for your bot: accepted or declined.
- After approval, your bot appears in the catalog channel.
Three commands help along the way: /start restarts the dialogue, /profile opens your profile and /support connects you with support if a request gets stuck.
What the catalog refuses
The rules are written right in the bot's description. Bots are forbidden on the channel if they:
- Sell weapons.
- Distribute pornography of any kind.
- Sell drugs.
- Run fraudulent schemes.
- Give predictions on match outcomes.
Other bots are welcome. It is an honest list of bans, and worth reading before you submit so you do not waste time. 🚫
What a catalog listing gives you
A catalog in a channel is one more place where your bot can be found. Readers who scroll through selections get a direct link and can launch it in one tap.
Still, do not expect an avalanche of users. A listing brings traffic only if the bot has a clear description, a tidy profile picture and an obvious benefit within the first seconds. The catalog merely leads a person to the door.
Preparing your bot for publication
- Name and description. Say in one sentence what the bot is for. Go easy on emoji.
- Commands. Set up the menu through BotFather so a newcomer sees what to do.
- Languages. If the bot works in several languages, say so.
- Stability. A bot that does not answer quickly earns a bad reputation.
Common reasons for refusal
Most often a request is declined for one of these reasons: the bot falls on the ban list, does not answer /start, has no description or looks like a copy of someone else's project. Fix the flaw and apply again, which is normal practice.
If your bot collects user data, say so honestly in the description. Transparency builds trust, and people launch a bot more willingly when its rules are clear. 🔍
Match predictions are banned in the catalog. If your sports bot only shows schedules and results, say that in the description so no questions arise.
Where else to find an audience
One catalog will not make a bot popular. Tell people about it in topic chats where your audience already is, without breaking the rules of those venues. Post short usage examples and ask for feedback. Always reply to reviews. 🤝
If someone offers "guaranteed" audience growth for money, be careful: inflating numbers with bot accounts brings no real people and can get you blocked.
