TikArchive: Save Videos by Link

You see a funny video in your feed, want to save it or forward it to a friend, and there is no download button. 📥 TikArchive fixes that: send a link, get a file back.

It works in a regular Telegram chat. There is nothing to install, you just copy the link and paste it into the dialogue.

One link, one file

The bot accepts links from several popular social networks and video sites. The sources it lists include short videos, photos, clips and music.

1. Copy the link. Use the Share button in the app you take the video from.
2. Send it to the bot. Just paste it into the chat.
3. Receive the file. You can save the video to your phone gallery.

The bot supports groups: add it to a chat and links posted there are processed too, so friends don't need to copy them one by one.

Settings and Premium

The menu has two items. The /settings command opens the options, and /premium shows the paid features.

What Premium includes and what it costs is shown inside the bot. Subscriptions in such services usually remove queues, limits or ads, but every service has its own terms. ⚙️

Why download if you can forward the link

A file has several advantages. You can open it offline, attach it to a presentation, send it to a person who lacks the app, and keep it after the author deletes the original.

Sometimes a link stops working because the clip was removed or the account closed. A saved copy stays with you.

What to know about other people's videos

Every clip is protected by copyright. Saving one for yourself is usually fine, but posting someone else's video under your name is not.

• Credit the author. If you share a clip, say where it came from.
• Keep it out of ads. Commercial use needs the owner's permission.
• Private accounts. The bot generally can't fetch content from private pages, and you shouldn't try to get around that.
• Personal data. Don't send the bot links that contain login tokens.

When the bot goes quiet

Downloader bots depend on changes in the services they pull videos from. After an update, downloading sometimes breaks for a while, and the author needs time to fix it.

Check that the link is complete and public, then try again in a few minutes. News and the developer's contact are in the bot profile. 🔄

If you only need the sound, see whether the bot offers music as a separate file. For notes and podcasts that is easier than extracting audio from a video by hand.
