SwpEnRu layout fixer bot

About this App

You type a message and the screen shows "ghbdtn" instead of a Russian greeting. The keyboard layout was wrong, and now you have to erase everything and type again. SwpEnRu fixes that in a second without leaving the chat ⌨️

It is an inline bot: it needs no separate window and works right in the message field of any conversation.

Two jobs, both about letters

The first job is to repair text typed in the wrong keyboard layout. Computers have programs for that, but phones usually have no such helper, and the bot fills the gap.

The second job is transliteration. You can write Russian words in Latin letters and get normal Russian text, or go the other way.

How it looks in a chat

  1. Open any dialog or group.
  2. In the message field type the bot's name, swp_bot, with an at sign in front, add a space and paste your text.
  3. A ready result appears above the keyboard.
  4. Tap it, and the fixed text goes to the chat from your account.

The bot is inline only: there is no point writing to it privately or waiting for a reply, and it has no commands.

Where it helps

  • Wrong layout: "ghbdtn" becomes a Russian "privet", and Cyrillic typed on the English layout is converted too.
  • Transliteration: "privet, kak dela" can be turned into a Russian line.
  • Someone else's message: if a contact sent transliterated text, read it in Russian in seconds.

When transliteration comes in handy

People write in Latin letters abroad, when a Russian keyboard is missing, or on a computer that is not theirs. Old chats sometimes contain transliterated text, and reading it unaided is tiring.

The bot does not replace attention. After conversion, skim the result. Words with rare letters can come out differently from what you meant. 👀

Small habits that save time

If you write a lot from one device, get used to pasting the text first and adding the bot's name at the start afterwards. That way a long message never has to be retyped.

For long paragraphs it is smarter to fix piece by piece: the result is easier to check by eye, and a mistake in one word will not spoil the whole message.

One last thing: the bot sends the result under your name, so look at the preview before tapping. A spare second spares you awkward messages in work chats. 😉

A word on privacy

An inline bot receives the text you type after its name. So do not feed it passwords, SMS codes, card numbers or other secrets, as with any outside service.

For sensitive text, switch the layout by hand or use a check on the device itself. 🔐

If nothing shows up

Wait a couple of seconds, since inline suggestions load with a small delay. Check that the name is typed correctly and followed by a space. If nothing appears, restart Telegram and try again.

For regular typing on a phone also look at your keyboard's built-in tools, as many have layout auto-correction. The bot helps where there is none.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use the SwpEnRu bot?▼
Open any chat, type the bot's name swp_bot with an at sign in front in the message field, add a space and paste your text. The fixed version appears above the keyboard. Tap it and it goes into the chat.
What does the bot do?▼
It fixes text typed in the wrong keyboard layout and converts transliteration in both directions. You can turn Latin-letter Russian into Cyrillic or the reverse. It has no other features.
Do I need to message the bot privately?▼
No, the bot is inline only. It works from the message field in any dialog, and it has no menus or commands. That keeps it quick: fixing a line takes a couple of taps.
Can I run passwords and codes through it?▼
Better not. An inline bot receives the text you type after its name, so avoid it for passwords, SMS codes and card numbers. Fix such data by hand, which is safer.
