My Saved Answers: Quick Replies

About this App

How many times a day do you type the same sentence to a client, a coworker or a student? Telegram has no built-in canned replies, and plenty of people miss them. My Saved Answers shows how it could look: a list of ready messages and one tap to send. ⚡

It is a concept mini app from an independent developer, not a big commercial service. So here is an honest look at what it demonstrates and where it helps.

Where the idea came from

The author noticed that many messengers and social networks offer quick replies, while Telegram does not. He built a mini app to fill that gap and entered it into the Telegram Mini App Contest in October 2023.

The project code is open under the MIT license. Any developer can study it and build a variant of their own. 🛠

What using it looks like

  1. Open the bot menu. The mini app shows a list of ready messages.
  2. Filter by tags. The right category appears faster than scrolling.
  3. Preview. Tap a card to see the full text.
  4. Press Send. The app closes and the message goes to your chat through inline mode.

The interface follows your Telegram theme: light, dark or custom. It looks like part of the messenger itself.

Inline mode does the heavy lifting

Inline mode lets you call a bot inside any chat: type the bot name in the message field and a list of options appears. Pick one and the message is sent.

No jumping between conversations is needed. If you use a bot often, Telegram starts suggesting it as soon as you type only the mention symbol. 👍

What to understand about the demo

The answers in the demo are set in advance and stored in the code, not in your personal cloud. You cannot add, edit or delete your own templates through the public bot, because that would need extra server work.

  • Concept. The project shows an idea, not a finished corporate product.
  • Static examples. The templates are the same for every visitor.
  • Open code. You can run the project yourself and put in your own texts.

Who will find it interesting

  • Developers. A clean example of pairing a mini app with inline mode.
  • Owners of small support desks. You can take the idea and deploy your own version.
  • Curious users. See how mini apps fit into a chat.

What to use for templates today

If you need personal canned replies right now, simple tricks exist. Keep phrases in your Saved Messages and copy from there. On desktop you can pin notes with standard answers in a chat with yourself.

Telegram business accounts have built-in quick replies, called with a slash in the client chat. That is the sturdier option for real work. 💼

Safety

The demo needs none of your payment details. Do not type passwords, codes or bank details into any template. And do not store secrets in your own templates either.
