Why a poll needs its own bot

Answers given in a private dialog with a bot are not visible to other chat members. That removes the pressure to vote the way everyone else does.

A word on privacy

Any bot can see your public profile: name and user ID. It gets your phone number only if you tap the share contact button yourself, so do not do it without a reason.
