Kozalo's Randomizer: Random Picks

bot • Handy Tools

About this App

Who does the dishes? Which movie to pick? Who pays for coffee? You can argue for ages, or you can hand the decision to a coin flip. Kozalo's Randomizer is a bot that draws lots right in the chat, with no extra app and no coin in your pocket. 🎲

The bot does five things: gives random numbers, picks one item from a list, answers yes or no, flips a coin and generates passwords.

Commands worth remembering

Each command does one thing and answers instantly.

  • /coin. Heads or tails.
  • /yesno. A yes or no answer to any question.
  • /number. A random number between boundaries you set.
  • /list. One random item from your list.
  • /help. A hint about commands.

For a list, separate options with commas or semicolons. For example, type several movie titles after /list, and the bot picks one. 🎬

Settling disputes without hard feelings

The good thing about a draw is that nobody argues with it. If everyone agrees in advance to accept the result, the bot lifts the tension and saves time.

To keep it fair, agree on terms before the toss: what heads means, what tails means, how many options are in the list. And toss only once. A repeat toss until you get the result you want turns a draw into self-deception. 🤝

Other uses

  • Chat giveaways. Number the participants and ask for a random number.
  • Turn order. Who starts the game, who speaks first.
  • Board games. A stand-in for dice when you have none.
  • Small decisions. What to cook, where to go, which route to take.

The bot works in a normal chat, and also in any conversation through inline mode, so you never have to leave the thread. For a giveaway with prizes, show the result publicly so that participants have no questions.

The password generator: use it wisely

The bot can create passwords from random characters. There is a version with only digits and Latin letters, handy when a site rejects special symbols. The /hex command returns random bytes in hexadecimal form, and /uuid gives a universally unique identifier.

You can set the length yourself. The longer a password, the stronger it is.

But remember that a generated password stays in your chat with the bot. For important accounts such as email and banking, use a password manager and do not leave secrets in a chat. For temporary passwords, tests and low-stakes services, the bot works well. 🔐

Open code and trust

The bot's source code is open: any developer can read it or run a copy. It is written in Python, and the author is named in the project description.

Open code is not a guarantee of security, but it lets you check how the bot works instead of taking anyone's word for it. If you care about your secrets, run your own copy.
