Gmail Bot: Your Email in Telegram

You get a verification code by email but only open your inbox once a day. Gmail Bot fixes that: new emails land in Telegram, and you can reply to them right there. 📬

This is Telegram's official bot for Gmail. You grant access to your mailbox once, and after that everything flows into an ordinary chat.

Emails that behave like messages

Every new email shows up in your conversation with the bot. You read it like any other message, with a notification on your phone and desktop client.

To answer, use the regular Reply gesture in Telegram: swipe left on mobile or double-click on desktop. Your answer goes out to the recipient as an email.

Four commands cover it

• /start begins authorization and connects your mailbox.
• /new opens a fresh email draft.
• /settings tunes your notifications.
• /stop turns off alerts for new mail.

The bot's description says you can handle email without leaving Telegram. For long business letters, a regular mail client is still more comfortable. 😉

Connect in a minute

1. Open the bot and tap Start.
2. Sign in to the Google account you want on the authorization page.
3. Tap Allow and return to Telegram.
4. Use /settings to pick which emails you actually want.

Only one account can be linked at a time. To switch, authorize again.

What the bot keeps about you

The privacy policy spells it out. The bot stores your Gmail access token, notification preferences and mailbox name. Incoming messages from the last 7 days are cached so you can reply to them, and older cached data is cleared.

Use of Google data follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its limited use rules. In plain words, the data is used only to run the feature.

How to disconnect and take access back

Send the bot /resetbot: notifications stop and its access to your mail is revoked. You can do the same in your Google account settings under third-party access. After revocation, your data is removed from Telegram's servers within 30 days.

Where it will not replace a mail app

Attachments, signatures, long threads and templates are easier in a mail app. The bot shines for short replies like "yes", "got it", "will call back". ⚡

Reviewers sometimes complain about delayed notifications. For urgent work email, keep your main mail app installed as well.

• Filter by label. Let only your important label reach Telegram and keep newsletters in the inbox.
• Check the signature. Replies may carry a note that they were sent through the bot, so look in settings.
• Clean up spam. You can delete a message or mark it as spam from the chat.
