About this App
You want to make a post headline stand out or give your profile bio some character, yet Telegram has no font picker. Fontgram fills the gap: you type plain text and get it back in dozens of styles. ✍️
According to its makers, the bot offers more than 90 fonts. You can use it in private chats, groups, channels and inline mode.
How it works
An honest note first: there is no font in the usual sense here. Telegram cannot change the typeface. The bot picks characters from the Unicode table that look like styled letters: bold, italic, serif, 'handwritten', circled, struck through.
That is why the styling survives when you copy the text and paste it somewhere else. 📋
First steps
- Open the bot and press Start (the /start command restarts it at any moment).
- Send the text you want to dress up.
- Pick a style you like from the list.
- Copy the result and paste it where you need it.
The main menu opens with /menu. If you get lost, call it to get back to the beginning.
Inline mode: no need to leave your chat
You do not have to open a dialogue with the bot. Type the bot's name in any chat followed by your text, and Telegram shows the style options right above the input line. Tap the one you like and it goes into the chat.
It is handy for short things: a nickname, a signature, a post title. 🚀
Where such fonts shine and where they hurt
- Good: profile bios, post headlines, photo captions, in-game nicknames.
- Careful: long texts. Styled characters are harder to read, and screen readers used by visually impaired people read them out as a string of odd symbols.
- Bad: important messages and search. Telegram search may fail to find a word typed in fancy characters.
Compatibility pitfalls
Most styles cover Latin letters and digits. Cyrillic rarely appears in such sets, so non-Latin text may stay unchanged or look different from what you expect.
On some older phones and in rare fonts, empty boxes show up instead of the unusual symbols. Before publishing a post, send a sample to yourself and see how it looks. 🔍
Who will use it
- Channel admins who format headlines.
- People who run social pages and write profile bios.
- Gamers who need a memorable nickname.
- Anyone who likes to play with the look of conversations.
Do not overdo it. One bright headline catches the eye, but a page typed entirely in fancy symbols pushes readers away. 🎨
