Filez: zip files in Telegram

bot • Converters & Files

About this App

A dozen photos, a couple of documents and a spreadsheet, and all of it has to go out as one attachment. Building an archive on a phone is awkward, and there is no computer nearby. Filez does that job inside the chat. 📦

The idea is plain: send your files, the bot compresses them into a ZIP and sends the archive back.

Files in, archive out

The bot's description fits in one sentence: send some files and you get them back as a single ZIP. There are no commands in the menu, so there is nothing to learn.

It does one task. No panels, no subscriptions, no settings to dig through. 🗜

Step by step

  1. Open the bot and press start.
  2. Send one or several files to the chat.
  3. Wait for the reply with the finished ZIP.
  4. Forward the archive to its recipient or keep it.

If you have many files, send them one after another without rushing. The bot gathers what you have sent it.

Why a ZIP

ZIP is the most widespread archive format. Windows, macOS, Android and iPhone open it without extra software.

  • One file instead of dozens. The recipient downloads once and nothing gets lost.
  • Smaller size. Text files, tables and documents compress well.
  • Order. A report, a contract and its appendices sit together.

Photos and videos are already compressed, so do not expect much space saved from archiving them. 🙂

Limits worth knowing

Ordinary Telegram bots receive files of limited size, and the standard cap is 20 MB per file. Large videos and disk images will not pass through a bot like this.

The bot also does only what its description says. Do not expect archive passwords or unpacking of other people's ZIP files.

What not to send

Any third-party bot can technically see the files you give it. A few plain rules follow from that.

  • Do not send passports, contracts with personal data or banking documents.
  • Do not send photos or files you would not show to strangers.
  • Work secrets, passwords and keys should be packed locally on your own device.

For sensitive data an archiver app on your computer or phone is the safer choice. 🔐

Who benefits

Students gathering assignments into one file. Freelancers sending mockups. Anyone who needs to bundle a few attachments fast when all they have is a smartphone.

The bot comes from an author who runs a channel and accepts support from users. The Open button leads to the chat with the bot. 👍

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Filez do?▼
You send the bot several files, it compresses them into one ZIP archive and returns it in the chat. There are no commands: press start and send your files.
Is there a file size limit?▼
Ordinary Telegram bots accept files up to 20 MB each, and that cap applies in most cases. For large videos and disk images use an archiver on your computer.
Is it safe to send documents to the bot?▼
The bot can technically see everything you send. Keep passports, banking papers and private photos out of it. For such files use a program on your own device.
Can I set a password on the archive?▼
The bot's description lists no such feature, so do not count on it. For a protected archive, create it on your computer or in an archiver app on your phone.
