You open the member list of your group and see dozens of grey "Deleted Account" entries. They do not write, do not read, and do not help, but they inflate the number and distort your stats. Cleaning them by hand is tedious. 🧽
Anti Deleted Accounts does it for you. The bot's description says it plainly: it kicks deleted accounts from groups.
Where the ghosts come from
When someone deletes their Telegram account, an empty "Deleted Account" entry stays behind in your group. It does not disappear on its own. Over time there are many of them, especially in big chats that are several years old.
No living person hides behind these entries, so your real audience is smaller than the member counter suggests.
What a kick means here
The bot removes an account with what Telegram calls a kick: the user is banned and then unbanned right away. The member leaves the chat, but no entry stays in the group's ban list.
For deleted accounts that is the ideal outcome. They cannot come back anyway, and your ban list stays clean.
Getting it set up
- Add the bot to your group. Search for Anti Deleted Accounts and invite it to the chat.
- Make it an administrator. In groups it needs the right to ban users.
- Wait. The bot checks members by itself, so you do not type any commands.
- Look at the member list. The grey entries disappear over time.
The bot also works in channels. There the exact permission matters less, because every channel admin can ban and remove members. ✅
How often it checks
The check does not run constantly. The bot looks for deleted accounts at most once every six hours, and only if a message has been sent to the group. That keeps it from wasting effort on abandoned chats where nobody posts.
In practice, an active group gets regular cleaning, while a quiet one is cleaned only after the next message. Do not expect an instant result. ⏱️
Points to keep in mind
- Availability. The bot's profile has carried a note that the server is temporarily down. If it does not respond, try again later.
- Admin rights. Do not give the bot more than it needs. The right to ban members is enough for this job.
- Open source. The bot's code is published, so if you want full control over your data, you can run your own copy.
- Check results at first. Make sure only deleted accounts leave the list.
Who needs this cleanup
Admins of large groups with a long history, where members have been leaving and deleting accounts for years. Community owners who want to know their true audience size. Anyone who tracks statistics and does not want dead entries to skew them.
A small new group of a few people may have no deleted accounts yet, so the bot would have nothing to do.
What the bot does not do
It does not fight spam, does not block mass-mailing bots, and does not check newcomers with a captcha. It has one job: removing deleted-account entries. For overall chat protection, use separate moderation tools. 🙂
