Anti Clickbait bot: /kickme for groups

عن التطبيق

الوصف غير متاح بلغتك بعد، لذلك يُعرض باللغة الإنجليزية.

The name promises a fight against clickbait, but the bot does something different and very simple. It lives in a group chat and removes a member who types the /kickme command. 🚪

It is a tiny utility: no menus, no settings, no long manual. Add it to a group, give it the right permission, and it works.

How /kickme works

The idea in one line: a member types /kickme, the bot bans them for 30 seconds, and they drop out of the group. After a short while they can rejoin through a link or an invitation.

The bot does not touch administrators. If an admin types the command, nothing happens, so admins are protected by default.

  • Who triggers it: any regular member who wants to leave on their own.
  • For how long: a 30 second ban, then rejoining is possible.
  • Who is exempt: group administrators.

Why anyone would want this

The first reason is a joke. Among friends, kicking yourself can be part of a meme, say in a game where the last person to write gets removed.

The second reason is more practical. Sometimes you want to drop notifications or step away from a noisy group without digging through settings. A 30 second ban works like a reset. 😄

The third reason is testing. An admin can check on their own test account that the bot received the right permission and can really ban.

What the group admin needs to do

The bot needs permission to ban members. Without it the command does nothing, and you end up with a bot that sits quietly in the member list.

  1. Add the bot to the group from the group menu.
  2. Make it an administrator.
  3. In the permission list, turn on banning users and turn off everything else.
  4. Try the command from a second account.

The bot needs no other rights. The fewer permissions it holds, the less harm it can do if something goes wrong.

Where the catch is

First, the name is misleading. This is not a filter for clickbait headlines and not a link blocker. If you want spam protection, you need a different kind of bot with word filters and captcha.

Second, any member can leave through the command at any moment. If you bring people in from ads, joins and leaves will clutter the event log.

Third, in private groups a person can come back only with an invitation. If the link has to come from an admin, someone who left by accident may stay away for a long time. ⚠️

Admin rights and safety

Any bot with banning rights can cause trouble if a careless person controls it. Give rights only to bots with a clear author and a clear job. Here the job is stated in the profile and comes down to one command.

After a test you can keep the bot in the group or remove it. If you no longer need it, take the rights back so the chat has fewer points of risk. 🔒

One more point: the bot is no replacement for real moderation. Order in a large group takes rules, active admins and, when needed, anti-spam tools with settings.

الأسئلة الشائعة

What does Anti Clickbait bot do?▼
The bot removes a member from the group when they type /kickme. It is a 30 second ban, after which the person can come back. Administrators are not affected.
What permissions does the bot need in a group?▼
It needs the right to ban users. Make the bot an admin and turn on only that permission. Without it, the /kickme command will not work.
Does the bot fight clickbait and spam?▼
No, despite the name. It does not check headlines or links and reacts only to the command. For spam protection, use separate bots with filters and captcha.
Can I rejoin the group after /kickme?▼
Yes, the ban lasts about 30 seconds. In an open group you can join again by link, while a private group needs an invitation, so warn members in advance.
